To date the showing that I have done with the Norwegian Fjord breed has been to take two mares to be evaluated in conformation at Moses Lake Washington, and both mares came back to Canada with their blue ribbon status. We would like to take this opportunity to thank both Judges Karen Cabic and Karen Maas for the praise they gave these mares, it meant a lot to us as new comers. We would have loved the opportunity to show them in the performance classes, but with moving to a new province and all that had to be done to properly set up the property so it would be safe for our stock, there wasn't enough time to consistently train these mares. We did not want to show them in performance classes unprepared . We will keep our web site updated with news of upcoming competitions and are planning on getting at least two mares evaluated in performance at Moses Lake in 2009. Wish us Luck! |
Fjords in the Ring Versatility is a key word when describing the Fjordhorse. Their good dispositions and intelligence make them adaptable to many tasks. From the show ring to the trail they are excellent and consistent performers. Whether under saddle in dressage, hunter-jumper, trail, English and Western or being driven in harness, the Fjord seems able to handle the task it is given. Its ability to handle difficult terrain has led to achievement in show jumping and dressage, where they have reached the highest levels. |
