In the fall of 2003/2004 Jim and Carol became involved with the Norwegian fjord breed when her older brother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and he asked her to disperse of his Norwegian Fjordhorse herd. Carol, who had been training and marketing children's show horses and ponies made the trek to her brothers farm and brought back four young Fjords which she started working with and was amazed at their disposition and willingness to learn. Out of the herd she held back a mature mare and a weanling filly who both to date have earned their blue ribbons in conformation at the Moses Lake Washington Norwegian Fjordhorse evaluations in August 2007. Jim and Carol are now well established on their new farm, and developing a breeding program to produce quality Norwegian Fjords which any enthusiast would be proud to own. |
Our Goal Red Wing Acre's goal is to have Blue Ribbon Mares that are proven in conformation and performance, that will be bred to evaluated and proven stallions. Our primary goal is to produce Norwegian Fjords for sport and pleasure that you will be proud to take into the show ring, out on the trails, or for your next driving horse.
